So Joe and I have just been discussing the future of this blog. It started off well, but has kind of fallen flat.
This summer, we intend to be serious about this, put in some hours and have a fully fledged music blog for your enjoyment.
It will happen, and any help you can give us (promotions, etc) will help along the way.

Summertime Blues
I read this article in the free music magazine The Fly and I looked for an online link for it but alas, it’s not on their website so here it is.
“Camping is not fun, if it was we’d all be voluntarily homeless…or Living in Millets.”
SO, HOW about this weather? Granted, it may be raining as you read this, in which case may I suggest you put the mag down and return to...

Gig Report - Mabel Love, The Monocans, Silents.
I posted this a few days ago, recommending if you were able to come, you should…But boy did you miss out! The gig was rammed and Mabel Love absolutely killed it, in the best way possible! There was also 2 special guests who were in attendance…Alex Turner and Matt Helders from another local band Arctic Monkeys! I even bagged myself a Mabel Love shirt.
Pictures after the break!

Seriously, how the fuck can anyone think they’re talented and actually have a future career?
It’s all a get quick scheme for Simon Cowell to make money, why the fuck can’t people realise that? They’re doomed, talentless, generic, corporate puppets. In 2 years one of them will probably be on…
Why is Joe a part of Lithium Records? Because he writes fucking beautiful stuff like...

The Pretty Reckless
I was wrong about Taylor Momsen. I used to despise everything she stood for.
I read an interview with her about The Pretty Reckless long before I had heard their music, and she likened the band to “fucking Led Zeppelin”. I couldn’t take her seriously. Classic judging a book by it’s cover. How could the little girl from The Grinch possibly be in a rock band?
Last week I...
Interesting how music develops. How one day in the future, current music will be seen as something beautiful and vintage. In the same way that we now listen to New Order, Joy Division and The Smiths, one day some of our children will be listening to the likes of Lady Gaga, Arctic Monkeys and Mumford & Sonds. Their music tastes will be seen as incredibly sophisticated and cool.
If I catch my...

Conflicting emotions.
“variety is the spice of life”
I feel like I’m going to be shunned or disliked for this but…
Personally, I’m not a huge fan of the newer Arctic Monkeys stuff. I believe they’ve strayed too much from their original roots. I’m lucky enough to know many people who have links with the Arctic Monkeys, one of my favourite stories was bumping into Chris...

Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair
“The boys are back! Love it lads!”
A comment left at the very beginning of the Arctic Monkeys’ new track posted earlier this week on the band’s soundcloud. Certainly, the boys are indeed back, but not as we remember them. Firstly, they are no longer the chavvy, wonderfully different breath of fresh air that appeared on the music scene in 2005. They have matured, not...
A secondary introduction.
With great thanks to Harry who’s allowed me to contribute I thought I’d introduce myself…
I’m Joe! I’m an 18 year old music technology student from the north of England, Barnsley to be precise which is in the south of Yorkshire, but in a matter of months I’ll be moving down south as I’ll be going to the London College of Music.
Music is one of the rare...
So here we are, live for the very first time.
This is, primarily, a music blog. A place where we will rant and waffle not because we like the sounds of our own voices, but because we love music. Albums will be reviewed, individual songs analysed, bands criticised and so on.
We will also try and keep you updated with what is going on in the musical world, posting a bit of news here and there, new...
